Welcome to Nomadic Cat!
Hi there traveler! Nomadic Cat makes yurts inspired by Central Asian culture and design. I'm happy to tell you a little more about why!
For me, the cat yurt is a way to combine two things I love -- my culture and my kitties!
I am of Kazakh descent but immigrated to the USA with my American spouse and our four cats after a long and lengthy visa process.
It was difficult to bring our four rescue cats to their new home. Not only were there a lot of costs and paperwork, it was highly stressful and scary for the cats.
All four were found on the streets of a very busy city as kittens! At the time we were living in Asia -- and by the time we made the trip to America our cats were already 7 years old! It was a tough transition for them, but the little nomads made it to a new and better home.
We're all very happy to be in the USA now! But there is not much Central Asian/ Kazakh culture visible in this great melting pot. In fact, most people only ask me whether I’ve seen Borat 😵💫🤫🤭
So I thought it might be cool to share more about Kazakh and Central Asian culture through my cats and the design of the yurts.
From idea to finished product was another long journey...
But I'm happy my cats truly love and use the yurts. My Kitty Khans spend whole afternoons napping in them -- and a cat sleeping in a mini-yurt it is exactly the aesthetic vibes I imagined it to be.
I hope you and your cat will enjoy a Nomadic Cat Yurt too.
Sincerely,
Rania
